Xiumin, a member of EXO, will not participate in the group's upcoming 2024 fan event and eighth album due to an ongoing contract dispute with SM Entertainment. The conflict began in 2023 when he sought to terminate his contract over settlement issues, and while he is willing to participate through his new agency, SM insists he must first fulfill the terms of their prior agreement.
Xiumin is a multi-faceted artist whose career spans solo music, acting, and musical theater. His work includes his 2016 film debut, participation in the EXO-CBX sub-unit, and his own solo EPs "Brand New" (2022) and "Interview X" (2025). He maintains both a solo career and continues his group activities with EXO.
